ZigBee testing and certification services
ZigBee is a generic name for a protocol technology which makes use of the IEEE 802.15.4 radio standard. The term has been copyrighted by the ZigBee Alliance which is an alliance of manufacturers and associated organisations with an interest in the ZigBee technology.
The ZigBee Alliance has been in existence for approximately 5 years, during which time ZigBee has grown and evolved.
ZigBee Alliance runs a certification scheme to allow manufacturers to mark their products with various ZigBee logos which indicate their intended use and interoperability with other certified products.
In late 2008, ZigBee Alliance introduced the first of their "public profile" certification routes for a particular type of product, namely Smart Energy (SE) products. This was followed in Oct 2009 by the launch of the next "public profile" certification route; this time for Home Automation (HA) products.
TRaC has been appointed by the ZigBee Alliance to perform certification testing for platforms and products in accordance with the Alliance's Certification Policy. The diagram below illustrates the testing services we offer relating to the different types of ZigBee Alliance Certification:
TRaC offers an extensive set of services for manufacturers interested in ZigBee, ranging from ZigBee Certification testing to Notified Body work to assist in complying with legal market regulations.
