ZigBee PRO Profile

ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) Testing:

The ZigBee PRO profile is defined in ZigBee Alliance document 053474r17 (2007) which can be downloaded from the ZigBee Alliance website.

The ZigBee PRO profile defines one of the basic radio/chipset "platform" up on which ZigBee products are built.

The ZigBee PRO profile is initially intended for larger or commercial networks. It can make use of higher levels of ZigBee security and uses stochastic addressing. This functionality has made it an ideal base for ZigBee Smart Energy (SE), ZigBee Home Automation (HA), ZigBee Construction Building Automation (CBA) and the ZigBee Telecoms Applications (TA) Profiles.

As a fully recognised ZigBee Alliance test house, TRaC is able to offer a complete ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) testing service to chipset manufacturers, leading to certification of the platform.

The testing is carried out at TRaC using Golden (reference) Units to form small networks in accordance with the ZigBee profile test specification. For further details of TRaC's ZigBee Profile platform testing services please contact us.

Note: It is a pre-requisite of the ZigBee Alliance ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP) test program that the radio/chipset must have passed IEEE 802.15.4 testing prior to commencement of the platform testing. For further details of TRaC's IEEE 802.15.4 test service, please follow the link.

Once a platform has been certified, it can be used by end product manufacturers in their designs leading to ZigBee SE, HA, TA, PHC and CBA Public Profiles.
