North West Centre of Excellence Construction gets Underway
Construction has begun on the largest state of the art testing facilities in the North West.
Work on installing the EMC anechoic test chambers at is well underway with the first chamber nearing completion. These chambers will be used to perform radiated emissions and radiated immunity testing of electrical/electronic equipment to various International specifications including FCC CFR47 and various EN and CISPR documents.
The chambers are also designed for EMC testing in accordance with military and avionics specifications including MIL STD 461, and RTCA DO-160
The new EMC anechoic chambers, include
-
absorber lined shielded enclosure
-
a one tonne automated turntable
-
semi-pneumatic double doors (2x 1mx2.1m) gaining easy fork truck access for larger equipment under test
-
a GRP table and fully pneumatic and automated antenna tower.
To the rear of the EMC chambers will be large self contained monitoring rooms, offering a comfortable and confidential environment for customers to observe their testing via hardened EMC cameras.
The monitoring room will contain all necessary automated equipment, resulting in the most technologically advanced and efficient method of obtaining test and measurement data, reducing test times, whilst increasing the probability of intercept (POI) of radiated EMC emissions. The net result will mean the client receives a much smoother and efficient test experience, with friendly and helpful staff.
Upon completion, the chamber will be NSA calibrated (RF emissions) using volumetric methods laid down in relevant CISPR publications. In addition to receiving a 16 point EN61000-4-3 calibration (RF immunity), ensuring field uniformity over 1.5m2.
