Test fixture design and manufacture
Let TRaC manage the design and manufacturing of your test fixtures
A fixture designer must be able to design a test fixture that will transmit the intended input forces directly to the device under test. To accomplish this, a designer must have specific skills as well as an understanding of vibration and shock, structures, dynamic theory, materials, fabrication and welding.

A fundamentally flawed fixture design approach can adversely impact the test being carried out. This occurs when the fixture is too flexible or impedes the dynamic forces being transmitted to the test item. The optimum properties for a fixture are to be infinitely light and infinitely rigid. Testing your product on a fixture which forces a failure on your test item or indeed fails itself, can be costly and will delay a project. Costs incurred are not only those associated with repeat testing and delaying product to market, but importantly unnecessary product redesigns, which have only failed test due to inappropriate fixtures being used. Our in-house test team frequently report test failures to our clients due to their fixtures not being engineered to the required specifications.
Our clients engineering expertise is in the design and development of their products. Our expertise is in designing, analysing and manufacturing test fixtures. By outsourcing your fixture design TRaC solves all your test fixture issues so you can focus expensive engineering resources on your product design and not peripheral engineering tasks.
When TRaC engineers design a fixture it is conceived using our 40 years plus experience of fixture design. We also have our suit of analysis software on hand to ensure the fixture will perform correctly during the test (link to Analysis software page?). We then work closely with our manufactures to ensure the fixture meets the requirements of your planned physical tests. TRaC are working with the leading Military, Aerospace, Off Highway, Rail, Space, Oil and Gas companies designing and manufacturing their test fixtures.
