Safety testing of household and domestic equipment

Safety testing of domestic household equipment covers a whole range of different products. Generally these are white or brown goods such as toasters, washing machines or cookers but it can also cover products such as hair straighteners, ventilation systems and even saunas.

Safety Testing & Certification of Household EquipmentThe core standard for domestic products is EN 60335-1 and this covers generic hazards. Given the large amount of domestic products on the market, specific part two standards have been generated to take account of particular hazards relating to that equipment. There are currently over 100 part two 60335 standards.

In Europe it is also a requirement that domestic products are safety with regards to electromagnetic fields (EMF) and therefore a survey against the requirements of EN 50366 is also required.

TRaC can provide testing and reporting to cover a whole range of EN 60335 part two standard, as well the required EN 50366 assessment.
