Product approval, certification services - USA
Telecoms and radio
TRaC offers a full testing and type approval service for a wide range of telecoms equipment to ensure that products intended for sale or use in the United States of America (USA) meet all of the necessary regulatory and compliance requirements for Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA ) and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) type approval.
TRaC telecom and radio test reports are accepted by ACTA and the FCC.
TRaC also offers project management of the ACTA and FCC type approval processes, from completion of application forms to ongoing liaison with the approvals bodies to ensure type approval is granted.

ACTA Certification
Types of Equipment
TLTE and RF Type Approval is applicable but not necessarily limited to, data and text processing equipment, data preparation equipment, data terminal equipment, data circuit terminating equipment (for example, modems), automatic telephone answering machines, facsimile transceivers, call restriction devices, cordless telephones, digital and analogue feature telephones, lightning protection devices, line monitoring equipment and speech recorders.
Type Approval Requirements
On satisfactory completion of the evaluation process, an approval certificate is issued so that applicants can import equipment into the USA with the assistance of their local representative.Testing is carried out at TRaC. The FCC originally granted telecoms submissions for the USA. In an effort to speed up the process, the telecoms approvals were separated and a body called ACTA set up. The process is no longer an approval, but a registration. Submission can be granted by Self-Declaration and Submission through a technical competent body (TCB). TRaC is a designated ACTA TCB, therefore we can provide a swift response and fast turnaround time for ACTA registrations.
Project Management for ACTA Approvals
For ACTA approvals, the process that TRaC can project manage includes the following services:
-
Completion of all paperwork including application forms, declarations, and letters of authority to be sent to ACTA in the USA
-
Liaison with local offices and distributors in the USA
-
Submission of the approval applications to ACTA
-
Making payment for the certification on your behalf
-
Ongoing liaison with ACTA until type approval is granted
