TRaC offers a type approval and project management service for a wide range of telecoms equipment to ensure that products intended for sale or use in Argentina meet all of the necessary regulatory and compliance requirements for Comisión Nacional de Comunicaciones (CNC). 

Types of Equipment

TLTE and RF Type Approval is applicable but not necessarily limited to, data and text processing equipment, data preparation equipment, data terminal equipment, data circuit terminating equipment (for example, modems), automatic telephone answering machines, facsimile transceivers, call restriction devices, cordless telephones, digital and analogue feature telephones, lightning protection devices, line monitoring equipment and speech recorders.

Type Approval Requirements

All equipment testing is carried out in-country. All foreign manufacturers who want to obtain Argentinian type approval of telecommunications terminal equipment products must appoint an Argentinian citizen or company to apply for and hold approval. All applicants must be registered on the local Trade Register as being professionally involved with the marketing of electronics or telecommunications equipment.

Project Management for CNC Approvals

For CNC approvals, the process that TRaC can project manage includes the following services:

• Organization of despatch of the samples to prevent delays at Customs

• Management of the testing process till type approval is complete

• Completion of all paperwork including application forms, declarations, and letters of authority to be sent to CNC in Argentina

• Liaison with local offices and distributors in Argentina

• Submission of the approval applications to CNC

• Making payment for the certification on your behalf

• Ongoing liaison with CNC until type approval is granted

Testing Standards required by CNC

Testing must be carried out in-country to Argentinian standards.
