Many products are required to operate in environments where they will be susceptible to accidental or deliberate fluid contamination ranging from coffee to aviation fuel to sunscreen cream.
Where material degradation is a result of fluid susceptibility, this can lead to the premature failure of a product.
To simulate this environment at TRaC, material coupons or small whole components are wetted by a process of brushing or immersion in the offending fluids at ambient temperature and, if required, the fluid contamination process can be accelerated by exposure of the coupons or components to a prolonged period of high temperature (up to +90°C depending on the fluids flash point) in our dedicated flue-ventilated, micro-processor controlled, contamination chamber.
Fluid contamination testing at TRaC is accredited to RTCA-DO160, DEF STAN 00-35,BS EN 60068, BS 3G100DEF STAN 07-55 and standards.
