The test work involves the use of many different type of the test and measurement equipment from voltmeters and oscilloscopes through to spectrum analysers, measurement receivers and bespoke transient systems. The test systems are operated by a variety of means, using GPIB fully automated software and manual engineer operation.
Job Description:
- Assist in setting up, performing and monitoring testing to procedures laid down in the procedures manual.
- To familiarise themselves with test equipment functions, measurement and internal calibration techniques.
- To familiarise themselves with test specifications and methods.
- To maintain a technical logbook.
- To record results of tests on the prescribed result sheets, to plot graphical results.
- To prepare test reports for checking.
- To ensure that commercial confidentiality is maintained.
- To construct and maintain test fixtures and cabling.
- Day to day laboratory upkeep and organisation.
- To carry out any other reasonable duty as directed by the relevant manager
- Attend part time relevant electronic/electrical course on day release and as required to achieve qualification.
