Wireless LAN systems utilise both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz spectrums. There are regulatory requirements for both the RF performance and Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS). Certain regions within the unlicensed 5 GHz WLAN bands are protected to prevent interference to other services; for WLAN/RLAN devices, this protection mechanism is termed Dynamic Frequency Selection. Systems that are capable of transmitting in these protected regions need to be able to adapt and behave accordingly.

From the product’s conception we can provide guidance on regulatory requirements that will be faced, through our Early Stage Qualification (ESQ®) program as well as pre-compliance testing, formal application for standards, and certification. We can then assist with taking the radio product to the global marketplace through our approvals services.
