Naval and Marine

TRaC provides the design, testing and qualification process of your naval and marine products.

We have qualified multiple products for the new Queen Elizabeth Class Carrier programme as well as providing subject matter expertise and notified body services at both sub-system and whole platform levels. We can help you ensure that your products comply with the requirements of the international conventions as agreed by the International Maritime Organization, for example, Safety of Life at Sea (the SOLAS Convention). We can also ensure that your products meet common standards of safety and performance across the EU.

Working with naval and marine manufacturers from the initial design stage, our Early Stage Qualification (ESQ®) services support them through the complex nature of component testing in order to deliver against increasingly complex qualification milestones. Our expertise comes from testing thousands of different products every year and our industry-leading capacity allows us to help companies mitigate the risk of failing to meet complicated testing requirements and critical time-to-market deadlines. We can also help you gain Wheel Mark certification by providing EMC testing to the requirements of the Marine Equipment Directive referenced EMC standards.

TRaC is UKAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005; within our six UK test centres we have 30 EMC testing chambers and a range of shakers including three out of the four commercially available LDS984 shakers in the UK that specialise in large and challenging tests. Our industry-leading EMC and Environmental testing capacity and expertise allows manufacturers to get products to market faster.

Some military vessels need to meet dedicated military standards and be compliant with CE marking legislation. By testing and complying with the relevant military standards and with EMC standards listed in the Marine Equipment Directive, your contractual requirements and the EMC aspects of the Wheel Mark can be achieved
