Combined environmental test and analysis solutions

TRaC can offer a unique service of combined in-house expertise of environmental testing and computational analysis through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods.

With reliability, product development and qualification criteria continually pushing the boundaries of conventional testing, a time proven and cost effective approach is to carry out a low level vibration or shock test regime to refine and prove a FEA model. This also gives our customers the capability to evaluate the behaviour and performance of their products at computationally extrapolated testing levels which cannot be achieved by physical testing.

These two disciplines also highly complement each other in the set-up of more complicated vibration and shock test arrangements, where sophisticated fixturing is required.

Additional cross-overs between the two disciplines include the acquisition and analysis of field data by the FEA team, coupled with physical replication and investigation of these test conditions under the controlled condition of our test laboratory. Finite element analysis is subsequently used to understand the limitations of a product in order to derive accelerated fatigue/vibration life test regimes at more severe levels.
