EMC is becoming an increasingly important element of large infrastructure projects. From communications networks to transportation infrastructure to power generation, many projects require to use of dedicated EMC resources and expertise in order to ensure successful completion on time and to budget.
TRaC has tested very large power supply units that required essential testing for the effects to magnetic fields at 50Hz at a level of 1000 Amps/m. It is understood that this type of testing has not previously been carried out in the UK on such a large piece of equipment. The large 2 metre diameter Helmholtz coils constructed by TRaC were put to the test and satisfactorily produced the required field strengths, demonstrating that we have the experience and expertise to carry out any EMC project, no matter what its size or scope.
