PMR and TETRA services
Private Mobile Radio (PMR) or Land Mobile Radio (LMR) in North America is a radio communications system which uses hand held, mobile and base station radios to comuncat audio or data. These systems are sometimes based on such standards as MPT-1327, TETRA and APCO 25 which are designed for dedicated use by specific organizations.
PMR-446 is a licence free communication band in Europe, Family radio in the USA, that anyone can use for two-way radio communications similar to CB radios.
